Former member representing Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, Danji Usman, has officially announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Usman, in a statement released on Saturday in Jalingo, said the move would enable him to pursue his political aspirations ahead of the 2026/2027 elections.

He commended his supporters in Southern Taraba, across the state, and in the diaspora for their loyalty since his exit from the APC, describing their solidarity as proof of a shared vision to “rescue the people of Taraba from the grip of bad governance.”

According to him, his decision to join the ADC followed “careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations.”

He stressed that the new platform would serve as a vehicle to engage more effectively in the democratic process and champion the cause of the people.

“I therefore call on all my supporters, sympathizers, and every lover of good governance to rally behind this movement. Let us join hands to liberate the downtrodden, lift our people from poverty, and bring succor to communities in need by standing firmly with the ADC in every way,” Usman declared.

He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting a people-oriented agenda and urged his supporters to remain steadfast as he embarks on this new political journey.
