Supporters of Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim (GOH) under the “GOH-Front 2027” have called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to throw open its presidential ticket to all aspirants, urging the party to abandon its earlier decision to zone the ticket to the South.
The appeal was made in Kaduna by the group’s state coordinator, Aliyu Mohammed, who submitted an official letter to the Kaduna State PDP Chairman, Edward Marshal, requesting that it be forwarded to the party’s national secretariat.
According to Mohammed, zoning the ticket would limit the party’s chances of winning the 2027 elections by denying capable aspirants from other regions the opportunity to contest.
“We believe that throwing the ticket open would give the party a stronger footing ahead of the 2027 polls. Each and every Nigerian party loyalist willing and capable should be allowed to contest,” he said.
The GOH Front 2027 argued that restricting the ticket to the South would prevent the party from benefiting from the expertise and experience of aspirants from other regions.
In response, Kaduna PDP Chairman Edward Marshal assured the group that their request would be transmitted to the national leadership for consideration.
The GOH Front 2027 comprises supporters and members of the PDP backing the presidential ambition of Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim.
