The Attajiri Development Foundation has commissioned its second solar-powered borehole in Pandikungu community, Billiri Local Government Area, in a move aimed at tackling water scarcity and improving public health.

Announcing the intervention on Monday, Hon. Alfred John, through his aide Dunijir Gatama, said the project underscores the foundation’s commitment to delivering sustainable and people-focused development initiatives.

He noted that access to clean and safe water remains one of the most pressing needs in many rural communities, stressing that the newly constructed borehole would significantly ease the burden on residents while enhancing hygiene, economic productivity, and overall wellbeing.

“This second borehole is not just about water; it is about dignity, health, and long-term community development,” he said.

According to him, the adoption of solar-powered technology guarantees sustainability and reliability, as the facility runs on renewable energy with minimal maintenance cost, ensuring uninterrupted service for years.

He explained that the project aligns with the foundation’s broader vision of promoting inclusive development, reducing hardship, and empowering communities through practical solutions.

Hon. Alfred John also commended the community leaders, youths, and residents of Pandikungu for their cooperation and support throughout the execution of the project.

He reaffirmed the foundation’s resolve to extend similar interventions to more communities across Billiri and beyond. “The journey of development continues,” he stated.
