Former Ekiti State Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun, has obtained the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2026 governorship election at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.

Speaking at the venue, Ogun described the moment as a major milestone for Nigeria’s democratic growth, emphasizing the need for competence, unity, and transparency in governance.

“This form marks the beginning of changing the narrative. With it, I step forward to offer competence, capacity, and transparency in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people through people-oriented governance,” she said.

Ogun highlighted that her candidacy represents millions of Nigerian women striving to advance the nation but who remain underrepresented in decision-making positions.

She called for gender inclusiveness and a level playing field while reaffirming the importance of competence and capacity in leadership.

Expressing gratitude to her supporters, Ogun urged them to remain committed. “Thank you for standing by me. The work has just begun. Let’s do it together and make history,” she concluded.
