Ebonyi APC chieftain joins PDP, accuses leaders of anti-party
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr Kelechi Anosike, has congratulated the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), led by Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, following the Court of Appeal’s ruling on the appeal filed by the Taminu Turaki group.

Speaking during a visit to the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, Anosike described the appellate court’s judgment as a decisive verdict that has further strengthened confidence in the party’s leadership.

He also commended the NWC for successfully conducting peaceful and rancour-free primaries across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The PDP governorship candidate urged party members who were unsuccessful in the primaries to support those who emerged as candidates, stressing the need for unity and collective commitment to the party’s electoral success.

He said: “I am here at Wadata Plaza to congratulate our National Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and indeed the entire National Working Committee and PDP family on the Court of Appeal ruling delivered today.

“The judgment is timely and decisive. For those who were concerned about the matter, it is now clear that there is no cause for worry, as the leadership of our great party remains firmly established.

“I also wish to commend the National Working Committee for the peaceful and successful conduct of the party’s primaries across the country. I appeal to those who did not emerge victorious to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship, support the successful candidates, and work together to secure victory for our party in the 2027 elections.”

Anosike expressed confidence that the PDP would emerge stronger and more united following the court’s decision, urging party faithful to remain focused on rebuilding the party’s fortunes and providing Nigerians with credible leadership and good governance.

MEANWHILE, an APC chieftain in Ebonyi State and former Commissioner for Projects Monitoring, Felix Ogbonna Igboke, has defected to the People Democratic Party (PDP), accusing some APC leaders of engaging in anti-party activities.

Igboke, a former Chairman of Onicha Local Council, specifically alleged that the APC chairman in the state was involved in anti-party activities, claiming that such actions were carried out openly without sanctions from the party hierarchy.

“The APC chairman is playing anti-party politics, yet nothing is being done about it. The party structure has been hijacked for personal interests, and that is one of the reasons many of us decided to leave,” he said.
