President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday paid a visit to survivors of the deadly attack that struck Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, where over 100 people were reportedly killed and dozens injured.
The president arrived at the Tactical Air Command Base of the Nigerian Air Force in Makurdi at approximately 12:58 p.m. and proceeded directly to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
There, he met some of the victims who are receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the attack.

Tinubu was accompanied by Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State and senior government officials during the hospital visit.

Hospital sources confirmed that the patients being treated included both adults and children suffering from gunshot wounds, burns, and trauma-related injuries.

The president is also scheduled to hold a meeting with stakeholders at the banquet hall of the Benue State Government House in Makurdi to discuss the recent violence and steps toward restoring security and stability in the region.
The attack, which occurred early Saturday, was one of the deadliest in the state this year. Local authorities say many of the victims were displaced persons who had previously fled earlier rounds of violence.
