President Bola Tinubu has reinstated the Permanent Secretary, Finance (Special Duties), Mohammed Danjuma.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Olumuyiwa Abel, conveyed the President’s approval in a letter dated October 22, 2026.
According to the letter, his reinstatement took effect from October 21, 2026, following his suspension over an investigation into the activities of a purported government agency.
It stated that Danjuma was suspended on August 21, 2026, alongside two other permanent secretaries, following a report by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission on the activities of an organisation known as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.
The organisation was allegedly promoted by George Buchi Nwabueze, with suspected involvement of some public servants in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
“Following due diligence, Tinubu approved the lifting of Danjuma’s suspension and directed him to resume his duties in accordance with the Public Service Rules, relevant regulations and ethical standards of the Federal Civil Service.
“His reinstatement takes effect from October 21, 2026,” the letter read in parts.
