Super Eagles: Six-time Bundesliga champions eye Moffi

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is expected to leave OGC Nice this summer, and the German Bundesliga might be his next destination, Soccernet.ng reports.

​Moffi joined OGC Nice from Lorient in 2023, and he was a key player for the club until two seasons ago when he suffered a cruciate ligament tear.

​The 27-year-old fully returned to action last season and was expected to help the club secure a solid finish.

​However, his return also coincided with a downturn in results for the club. Last season, they struggled to a 16th-place finish and only survived relegation after defeating St Etienne in the Ligue 1 playoffs.

​At some point, they went on a 10-game losing streak. During that period, some of their players were attacked by fans, with Moffi and Jeremie Boga among the players who came out of it quite poorly. That damaged their relationship with the club, and they had to push for exits in the transfer window.

​Boga first moved to Juventus on loan before the club signed him permanently. Moffi, on the other hand, joined Porto, but they refused to sign him permanently.

​Now, he has just one year left on his contract, but the club has already confirmed that the Super Eagles striker will never play for them again.

​With OGC Nice confirming that Moffi can no longer play for them, the Nigerian marksman now has to find a new club.

​He has been linked with Besiktas, Hamburger, and Fenerbahce, but none of the talk has materialized.

​Now, reports suggest that Germany might just be his next destination. According to Sport.de, Hamburger SV are eyeing the 27-year-old marksman.

Hamburger finished 13th in the German Bundesliga last season, and they are looking to add some reinforcements to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

They were the third-lowest scoring side in the league last season, so adding quality in their attacking roster would definitely increase their chances of staying afloat and maybe pushing higher up the table.

Moffi is physical, good with the ball on his feet, and holds up the ball really well. The Nigerian striker is also good in aerial situations. So he can be a key asset for Die Rothosen next season.

The former Lorient man is valued at €8 million on Transfermarkt. But given the fact that OGC Nice are desperate to let him leave and he does not have a lot of offers, they could let him leave for a cheaper fee.
