
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sworn in seven new Permanent Secretaries into the state public service and also inaugurated the Chairman and members of the Lagos State Health Service Commission.
Confirming the appointment on X on Friday, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lagos State, Gbenga Omotosho, said ”the ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja, where the governor charged the new appointees to demonstrate professionalism, accountability and commitment to efficient service delivery across the state’s ministries and agencies.
”The newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries are Engr. Adeyemi Adetunji Adesanya (Ministry of Urban Development), Mrs Durodola Olusola Bukonla (Local Government Service Commission), Mrs Oladeji Oluwatoyin Olubunmi (Cabinet Office), and Mr Sorungbe Tiwalade Adeyinka (Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology).
”Others include Arc. Olukareh Bolanle Monica (Office of Works), Dr Oluwo Adenike Oluwafunmilayo (Health District II), and Dr Martins Babajide Olumuyiwa (Bureau of Public Defender).”
In addition to the Permanent Secretaries, the governor inaugurated the Lagos State Health Service Commission, with Dr Oguntimehin Olukayode Olumuyiwa as Chairman. Other members of the commission are Dr Ogboye Olusegun Abayomi, Dr Odunuga Omolaja Odushola, Pharm. Dr Adejumo Moyosore Wuraola, and Dr Mrs Fadipe Ololade Omolayo.’
Sanwo-Olu urged the appointees to see their new roles as a call to greater responsibility, stressing the need to strengthen governance structures and improve service delivery, particularly in critical sectors such as health, infrastructure, and public administration.
He added that the state government remains committed to building a more efficient and responsive public service that will support Lagos’ development agenda and meet the needs of its growing population.
