According to him, 93 incidents were recorded in January, while 80 were recorded in February.
Oke-Osanyintolu noted that road traffic accidents accounted for the highest number of emergencies recorded within the period, with 56 incidents.
“Out of the total number of incidents attended to within the period, road traffic accidents recorded the highest number with 56 cases. Of this figure, 53 involved assorted vehicle crashes, while three cases involved buses or cars catching fire,” he said.
He added that incidents involving trucks and tankers accounted for 35 cases, comprising 27 accidents, four breakdowns, two fire outbreaks, and two cases of fallen containers.
The permanent secretary further explained that other categories of emergencies accounted for 55 incidents, including 47 fire outbreaks, two building collapses, and four other miscellaneous cases.
He said the agency also recorded one tanker spillage incident, while no explosion was reported during the period under review.
“In addition, there was one suicide case and three attempted suicide incidents, while the agency received one suspected alert of a plane crash at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, which was later addressed,” he added.
Oke-Osanyintolu also disclosed that medical-related incidents and other emergencies accounted for 26 cases, including 17 medical emergencies and nine other incidents.
He explained that a breakdown of the incidents across local government areas showed that Ikeja recorded the highest number with 31 cases, followed by Kosofe with 18 incidents and Alimosho with 15 incidents.
“Other affected areas include Lagos Island with 13 incidents, Eti-Osa and Mushin with 12 incidents each, Epe with 11 incidents, and Oshodi-Isolo with 10 incidents,” he said.

He noted that Badagry Local Government Area recorded no incident during the period under review.
Oke-Osanyintolu said the analysis showed that road traffic accidents remained the most frequent emergency incidents, while tanker spillage recorded the least occurrence within the two months.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening disaster response capacity and promoting safety awareness across the state.
“The agency remains committed to enhancing emergency preparedness, strengthening response capacity, and promoting proactive risk management to safeguard lives and property across Lagos State,” he said.
