Harry Kane missed a penalty as Bayern Munich were held to an entertaining 2-2 draw by Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker on Saturday.
As reported by BBC Sport, the England captain had the opportunity to put Bayern in control early in the second half but saw his spot-kick crash against the crossbar.
Bayern took the lead shortly before half-time through Konrad Laimer, who converted a rebound after his initial effort was saved.
Dortmund responded after the break, with Serhou Guirassy firing a low shot past goalkeeper Jonas Urbig to level the score.
However, Bayern regained the advantage six minutes later when Dayot Upamecano headed home from close range following Kane’s knockdown.
Kane came close to extending Bayern’s lead but struck the crossbar again after being played through by Nathaniel Brown.
Dortmund refused to give up and found a late equaliser through substitute Fabio Silva, who drilled the ball past Urbig in the 89th minute to secure a valuable point for the visitors.
Bayern almost snatched victory in stoppage time, but Lennart Karl’s effort struck the crossbar.
The result leaves Bayern Munich top of the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund level on points but behind on goal difference.
