All is set for a discourse on Cross Border Trade and Security by Comptroller General, Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, at the 2025 annual national reunion conference of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA).
The event, scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025, will take place at the Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
In a statement, Prof. Sirajudeen Obayopo, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, and Ibrahim Fagbenro, Public Relations Officer, stated that Adeniyi, an alumnus, will speak on the Topic of the Conference: “Cross Border Trade and Security Implications On the Nigerian Economy: Taking Advantage of Global Trade Dynamics.”
The statement noted that the three-day conference, running from Friday, May 9, to Sunday, May 11, 2025, promises a rich array of activities aimed at fostering intellectual discourse, networking, and community engagement.
Obayopo said that the event will be graced by Gov. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke of Osun State as Special Guest of Honour; His Imperial Majesty and the Royal Father of the Day, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II; while the Chairman of the occasion is Dr. Muritadha Adeyemi Adeniji, Managing Director/CEO, Starling Global and Ideal Limited, with Prof. Adebayo Simeon Bamire as the Host Vice-Chancellor.
Others expected at the reunion include Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), three UNIFEMGA Vice-Chancellors of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN), Prof. Musa Aibinu of Summit University Offa, and Prof. Akeem Lasisi of Federal University of Health Sciences (FUHSI), Ila Orangun, among others.
The conference will kick off with a Jumat Service to be led by the Chief Imam, Prof. Abubakar Sanusi, followed by a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution and a networking dinner featuring the Unifemga Investors Forum 2.0 on Friday, May 9, to be hosted by Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, BOT Chairman of UNIFEMGA and Pro-Chancellor of Summit University Offa.
Other slated events include the “UNIFEMGA INVESTORS’ FORUM,” modeled after the popular TV show “Dragons’ Den,” offering entrepreneurs a platform to pitch their businesses to potential investors.
The reunion activities will also include a welcome reception for all delegates, a student picnic, presentation of scholarship grants, AGM, Students empowerment program, keep-fit exercises, and novelty matches among branches.
Speaking on the reunion, the UNIFEMGA National President, Alhaji Mohammed Buari, noted its alignment with the commencement of his tenure, expressing optimism that all delegates will have a fun-filled conference.
With over 300 delegates, including those from the Diaspora, already registered, the 2025 National reunion conference promises to be a gathering of minds committed to progress and unity.
