‘Tinubu’s economic policies yielding results’
Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, has threatened to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) if Abdullahi Abba emerges as the party’s chairman in Kano State.
Ata insisted that APC might head for another round of failure to capture power from the opposition New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) if Abbas eventually became the chairman.
However, National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, said Nigerians have begun to reap dividends of the economic policies initiated by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Abbas, whose third term as APC Chairman in Kano would end this month, is allegedly being projected by Ganduje to return for the fourth time. Abbas, a prince of Kano emirate, who has been a choice candidate of Ganduje, has been in charge of the party in the last 10 years .
Speaking at Fagge APC caucus meeting in Kano, the former Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly revealed that his constituency was not backing the purported imposition of Abbas to head APC in Kano.
The minister stated: “We are making it clear to everyone that if they bring him back, we will leave the party and the party will surely fall again. We are not with such people, and no matter what happens, we will not align with them. They send us messages, and we respond accordingly.
“Votes do not give power, money cannot buy power, and even the people do not ultimately decide who rules. Gawuna and Garo won the election cleanly, but fraud was committed against us.”
GANDUJE, who claimed the sign of relief was being noticed essentially on the fall of prices of food items and fuel, noted that the country’s currency also regained strength against the dollar.
The former Kano governor spoke, yesterday, while unveiling a multi-million naira empowerment programme initiated by Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, for APC leaders across the 484 wards of the state.
He explained that Tinubu demonstrated strong commitment to fix the economic challenges inherited, adding that Nigerians would not regret their support for the APC government.
The APC leader said Kano benefited from political appointments in Tinubu’s administration while reassuring the loyalty of members to the president. Earlier, Jibrin had applauded Tinubu for his commitment to national empowerment programmes, citing various initiatives aimed at supporting students, improving infrastructure, and enhancing healthcare services.
