Victor Osimhen was the star of the show, as Galatasaray shocked Liverpool at Rams Park…

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has stated that he and his teammates are looking to make history with Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League, Soccernet.ng reports.

Despite having to fight tooth and nail to get a win, Turkish champions Galatasaray were one of the biggest winners in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

They shocked the world by defeating Liverpool 1-0 at Rams Park. Osimhen’s solitary strike from the penalty spot did the damage for the Cimbom, and he eventually took the Man of the Match Award for his effort.

Galatasaray matched everything the Reds brought to the table and looked like a well-drilled side. That result just washed away the bad taste of their opening day 5-1 bashing at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Galatasaray now have six games left to play in the group stage of the Champions League. They have games lined up against Bodo Glimt, Monaco, Ajax, Royale Union SG, Atletico Madrid, and Manchester City.

Following his impressive showing against Liverpool, Osimhen has expressed his hunger to win more games in the Champions League and go far with Galatasaray.

What Victor Osimhen Said After MotM Performance Against Liverpool

“This is the biggest competition in the world, and we want to go far. We really have the quality to make sure that we achieve this objective,” Victor Osimhen said.

“It’s not going to be easy, we have to take each game as it comes. We still have some games coming, and we will be ready. We’ll try to give our all to ensure that we make history with this club.”

From Osimhen’s comments, it is clear that the Super Eagles star is targeting a fine finish with Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Since the turn of the century, the Cimbom have never passed the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. Perhaps, this might just be their season.
