Popular Nigerian pastor Jerry Eze held a prayer conference at Manchester United’s stadium, Old Trafford, on Saturday in what was a groundbreaking achievement, Soccernet.ng reports.
Jerry Eze is one of the popular pastors in Nigeria, and he has built a huge following through the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), which has grown into a major prayer platform with an international audience.
On Saturday, September 26, Old Trafford took on a completely different atmosphere as thousands of worshippers gathered at the 74,000-capacity stadium for the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference.
The event was organised by Eze’s Streams of Joy International and attracted Christians from across the United Kingdom and beyond for a day of prayer, worship and fellowship.
The conference was particularly striking because Old Trafford is the home of one of the biggest football clubs in the world, Manchester United.

Instead of the usual football chants and matchday atmosphere, the iconic venue was filled with worshippers participating in prayers and worship led by Eze.
The event was free to attend, although participants were required to register in advance because of the stadium’s limited capacity.

Eze was also joined by several prominent Nigerian gospel ministers and singers, including Mercy Chinwo, Dunsin Oyekan, Sunmisola Agbebi and Kaestrings.

The decision to hold the UK conference at Old Trafford also created a remarkable crossover between one of Nigeria’s prominent religious figures and one of the world’s most recognisable football venues.
Manchester United’s stadium has hosted countless major football matches, concerts and other events over the years. On Saturday, however, the venue became a gathering place for thousands of Christians who travelled to Manchester to participate in Eze’s prayer conference.
