Germany international Leroy Sané has cleverly dodged a tricky football question: choosing between Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

Sané is one of the few players to have shared the same dressing room with the Englishman and the Nigerian striker.

The former Manchester City ace was asked in a recent interview: “Which is better: your former teammate Harry Kane or your current teammate Victor Osimhen?”

His reply drew laughter: “I definitely won’t answer that (Laughing).”

It was a lighthearted moment from the German winger, now at Galatasaray, who seems keen to avoid upsetting either of his prolific strike partners.

Victor Osimhen the rising star, Kane the record breaker

Harry Kane has been one of the finest forwards of the last decade.

The England captain remains Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time top goalscorer (280), England’s all-time leading scorer (76), and the Premier League’s second-highest marksman (213).

He also holds the record for the most goals by an English player in the UEFA Champions League (44).

Despite scoring loads of goals for club and country, Kane has had little to cheer in terms of collective trophies.

After joining Bayern Munich in 2023 for a Bundesliga record €110 million, Kane collected silverware at last, winning the league title in 2025.

Osimhen, on the other hand, represents football’s new generation of African excellence. The Nigerian forward, now 26, began his career in Germany with Wolfsburg before rising through Charleroi and Lille. His breakthrough came at Napoli, where he became the Serie A top scorer with 26 goals, the highest tally ever by an African player, and inspired the club to their first Scudetto in 33 years.

While on loan at Galatasaray last term, Osimhen also finished as the Super Lig’s top goalscorer as the Turkish giants secured an impressive league and cup double.

This summer, the former Lille and Wolfsburg striker completed a €75 million move to Galatasaray, becoming the most expensive signing in the history of Turkish football.

A recipient of several individual honours, Victor Osimhen won the CAF African Footballer of the Year and Serie A Footballer of the Year in 2023. He is Nigeria’s second all-time top scorer.
