Victor Osimhen, Ndidi, other Super Eagles stars who could move before transfer window closes

The final days of the summer transfer window could prove decisive for several Super Eagles stars, with a number of Nigeria internationals still facing uncertain futures, Soccernet.ng reports.

While some have already attracted concrete offers, others have emerged as late-window targets for clubs looking to strengthen their squads before the deadline.

Victor Osimhen is arguably the biggest name on the list, with Arsenal maintaining interest in the Galatasaray striker. There is also the possibilty of a Galatasaray switch. Wilfred Ndidi, meanwhile, has been linked with a move away from Beşiktaş despite reports suggesting he could ultimately remain in Turkey.

Here are the Super Eagles stars who could still change clubs before the transfer window closes.

Victor Osimhen

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen remains the biggest potential Nigerian transfer story of the summer.

The striker only recently made his permanent move to Galatasaray, but his goalscoring record has continued to attract interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.

Arsenal have emerged as the strongest late-window suitor, with reports indicating that the Premier League champions have held talks with Galatasaray over the 27-year-old. However, the transfer is far from straightforward.

Osimhen’s high salary is reportedly one of the biggest obstacles, while Galatasaray are reluctant to lose their star forward. Arsenal would also need to reach an agreement with the Turkish champions over the transfer fee.

With the window approaching its close, Osimhen’s future could therefore become one of the defining late transfer sagas.

Wilfred Ndidi

Ndidi’s future has also been the subject of speculation this summer. The defensive midfielder joined Beşiktaş from Leicester City in 2025 but could now be tempted by another move after just one season in Turkey.

Saudi clubs have shown interest, with Al-Ittihad reportedly among those exploring a deal, while Al Diriyah have also been linked with the Nigerian.

Beşiktaş are understood to have placed a significant valuation on the midfielder, meaning any interested club will need to make an offer capable of changing the Turkish club’s stance.

Chidera Ejuke

Ejuke’s transfer situation has already taken a dramatic turn. The Sevilla winger was strongly linked with Anderlecht, with the Belgian club reportedly making a €3.5 million offer. However, the move stalled over the player’s salary demands before ultimately collapsing.

Ejuke has since returned to Sevilla and even scored in the club’s 3-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao. That performance could complicate his future further.

Sevilla have been willing to consider his departure, but Ejuke’s strong start to the new campaign could give the club another reason to reconsider.

A move remains possible, but the winger may now have to convince Sevilla that leaving is still the best solution.

Joe Aribo

Joe Aribo is a slightly different case since he is already a free agent. The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City from Southampton, but his Southampton contract expired at the end of June. And now, he is without a club.

That means Aribo can complete a move even after some transfer windows close, depending on the relevant league’s registration rules.

For a player with Premier League, Scottish Premiership and international experience, Aribo remains an attractive option for clubs looking for midfield depth without paying a transfer fee.

His next destination could therefore be one of the more interesting Nigerian moves to watch.

Emmanuel Fernandez

Emmanuel Fernandez has quickly become one of the hottest young Nigerian defenders in the transfer market.

The Rangers centre-back has attracted interest from several clubs, with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly among the teams monitoring his situation.

The 24-year-old has also been linked with interest from Premier League clubs, while Rangers face a major decision over whether to retain him or cash in for a substantial fee.

Fernandez is under contract with Rangers until 2029, giving the Scottish club a strong negotiating position. The Super Eagles star’s €18 million market value also shows how much his stock has risen.

A big late offer could therefore test Rangers’ resolve.

Zaidu Sanusi

Super Eagles defender Sanusi could be heading for a new chapter after more than six years at Porto.

Saudi Pro League club Al Qadisiah have emerged as a potential destination for the Nigerian left-back, with talks reportedly taking place between the parties. Porto are said to be open to a sale and are seeking around €10 million.

The timing is significant owing to the fact that Sanusi is entering the final year of his Porto contract.

Negotiations over a new deal have stalled, particularly over salary demands, leaving Porto with a decision to make: sell now or risk losing him for nothing next summer.

A move to Saudi Arabia could therefore become one of the most realistic late-window exits for a Super Eagles player.

Femi Azeez

Azeez has emerged as another Nigerian attracting serious interest from Premier League clubs.

The Millwall winger enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 Championship campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in 35 league starts. That form has attracted interest from Brighton, Hull City and other clubs.

Hull are reportedly leading the race, while Brighton and Wrexham have also been linked with the 25-year-old. The major complication is Millwall’s asking price.

Azeez is under contract until 2028, allowing Millwall to demand a substantial fee. Recent reports have suggested a price as high as €30 million, which could make negotiations difficult even with the deadline approaching.

His hamstring injury could also influence the situation, with the winger currently expected to return in early September.

Philip Otele

Otele could also be heading for Saudi Arabia. Al-Fateh have made a concrete move for the Basel winger, but the first offer was rejected. Basel reportedly turned down a €3 million bid and are demanding €4 million as a fixed fee.

The encouraging development for Otele is that he has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Al-Fateh. That leaves the clubs to find a compromise over the transfer fee.

With the difference between the two valuations relatively small, Otele’s proposed move could become one of the easier Nigerian transfers to revive before the window shuts.
