The UEFA Champions League resumed on Tuesday, with action across several centers in Europe.

​Day one of the sixth matchday featured a good number of interesting fixtures, and they all provided the expected excitement.

​Several Nigerian players were in action for their various clubs. In this article, we’ll review the performances of the players who featured.

​Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was in action for Atalanta on Tuesday. He played all 90 minutes as La Dea defeated Chelsea at the Gewiss Stadium.

​The former Everton man had a very good game for Atalanta, registering three shots, 54 touches, an 83% pass accuracy, and three ball recoveries.

Lookman was very lively and was a thorn in the side of the Chelsea players. Although he did not score, he had a solid performance.

​After missing the 1-0 defeat against Royale Union SG last time out, Victor Osimhen returned to action against Monaco at Stade Louis II.

​His presence was supposed to be a big boost for the Cimbom, but he could not deliver for his side on the night.

​Galatasaray dominated the first half, but Monaco grew into the game in the second half and scored in the 68th minute, courtesy of Folarin Balogun. That goal was just enough to guarantee the home side the win.

​Osimhen was well-marked on the night. He registered five shots, 25 touches, two ball recoveries, and won nine of his 15 duels. Following their loss, Osimhen’s Galatasaray side now sit 17th in the standings.

​Igoh Ogbu (Tottenham 3-0 Slavia Prague)

​Igoh Ogbu played 90 minutes for Slavia Prague when they visited the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for their Champions League game.

​Ogbu and his Slavia Prague teammates had a bad day at the office. The Super Eagles defender even conceded the penalty for Tottenham’s third goal.

​He will be hoping to have better days. Slavia Prague now sit 32nd in the Champions League standings, with three points after six games.

Meanwhile, ​Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi was on the bench for the entire 90 minutes as his Olympiakos side defeated Kairat Almaty 1-0.
