Italian Serie A club AC Milan has agreed to part ways with Nigerian midfielder Victor Eletu, four years after he first joined the club, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Rossoneri have been highly active this summer, aiming to balance their books, reduce their wage bill, and offload players who do not fit the tactical philosophy of manager Rúben Amorim.

Although fellow Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze appeared to be on the fringes of the squad, it now seems he will be given an opportunity to prove his worth this season.

Unfortunately, Victor Eletu will not receive the same chance under Amorim. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder joined the Rossoneri as a teenager in 2021 and has spent his tenure within the youth ranks. Despite having one year remaining on his contract, the club has opted to facilitate his departure.

According to top Italian transfer market expert Nicolo Schira, Eletu is set to join Serie A side Pescara in a permanent move.

The 21-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract running until 2029. While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, it is understood that AC Milan has secured a percentage of any future sale.

This move marks Eletu’s first opportunity to experience consistent senior-level football. He will be looking to play a pivotal role as Pescara pushes for promotion to Serie B.

Eletu, who previously represented Nigeria’s Flying Eagles at the 2023 U-20 World Cup, will now be aiming to make his mark at the senior level to bolster his chances of a future call-up to the Super Eagles.
