President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to tackle the menace of banditry and other criminalities confronting the country, especially in the North.

President Tinubu, who spoke through the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammad Idris, gave the assurance at the APC Niger South Senatorial District Zone A interactive session preparatory to the 1st November Local Councils elections in Niger State, as well as the inauguration of members of the Campaign Council, held in Bida over the weekend.

He further promised Nigerians of his renewed commitment to ensure the safety of their lives and properties to fast-track the speedy development of the country.

He noted that security agencies will do whatever it takes to ensure that security returns to the people of Niger State, as well as all over the country.

The minister enjoined Nigerians to have faith and believe in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as his reform agenda is working and the economy is getting better, adding that this is just the beginning of many better things coming our way.

The minister is also the Chairman, Campaign Council for the 1st November Local Council elections in Niger State.

Idris added, “We wanted to dance and sing, but unfortunately, due to the incident that happened to our brothers and sisters in Niger North Zone C, we decided to scale it down, and prayed that all those that the bandits have attacked, God will give them succour.”

Idris had earlier donated one hundred million naira cash to the campaign council, with each of the Eight Local Government Councils of Niger

South Senatorial District receiving 10 million naira, and twenty million naira to be distributed to women and youth spread across Zone A.

He expressed optimism that the APC in Niger State will emerge victorious in the forthcoming Local Government Councils Elections. He advised Niger residents to embark on a peaceful campaign devoid of rancour while reminding them of the teachings of his Principal Officer, President Tinubu, that they should avoid bloodshed.

He advised them to imbibe the spirit of brotherhood to see themselves as their brother’s keeper because it is democracy and not violence.
