Super Eagles newboy Moses Usor has revealed his ambitions and explained the kind of career he wants to build with the Nigerian national team, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old LASK forward enjoyed a dream debut for the Super Eagles during their 2-1 win over Madagascar last Friday, coming off the bench to score the winning goal with a brilliant individual effort.
Ehsan Kari had given Madagascar a shock lead earlier in the game before another debutant, George Ilenikhena, restored parity in the first half.
Usor then completed the comeback with his second half winner, marking his first appearance for Nigeria in memorable fashion.

The forward had previously received a call-up ahead of the 2026 Unity Cup tournament but was unable to honour the invitation because of injury. He was handed another opportunity ahead of the Super Eagles’ opening two 2027 AFCON qualifiers and made the most of it against Madagascar.
Usor wants to emulate Super Eagles centurion
While Usor came off the bench to make his international debut, Moses Simon also entered the game and became the fifth Nigerian player to reach 100 caps for the national team.
Sharing the pitch with Simon on such a special night made the occasion even more memorable for Usor, who hopes to follow in the footsteps of his more experienced teammate.

“I want to be like Moses Simon, his consistency, his humility, his commitment to the team over so many seasons”, he told Footy-Africa.
“It’s special to share the name Moses and go through this night with him. Getting to 100 caps for Nigeria is a massive achievement.
“Now it’s about work. One goal doesn’t make a career. I want to stay humble, keep learning from the senior players, and keep fighting for my shirt. I want Nigerians to know I’m here to give everything.”
On dream Nigeria debut
Usor’s goal came just 14 minutes after he was introduced, breaking Akor Adams’ record to become the fastest Nigerian player to score as a substitute on a competitive debut.
The LASK forward is still savouring the moment and admitted that scoring on his Nigeria debut was a dream come true after waiting for the opportunity throughout his career.
“He just told me to go out there and show what I can do. Once I got the ball, I backed myself. Seeing it go in on my Nigeria debut, with our fans there in Uyo… I’ll never forget that night”, Usor added.
“I wasn’t nervous, I was hungry. The team needed a moment, and I wanted to be the one to give it to them. I’ve waited for this chance my whole career, so I just told myself: this is your moment, take it.”

Usor will now be hoping his impressive debut is enough to put him in contention for a starting place when Nigeria return to action for their second game of the qualifiers.
The Super Eagles face Guinea-Bissau, hoping to build on their opening victory and continue their strong start to the qualifying campaign.
