Top European clubs, including Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Newcastle United, are keeping tabs on Super Eagles-eligible winger Emeka Owen, Soccernet.ng reports.
Owen is the latest Nigeria-eligible whizkid turning heads across Europe. He joined Spanish side Granada in 2024 as a 15-year-old and has steadily risen through the youth ranks to become a regular fixture in the first team.
This season, he has featured in six of their seven league games, registering one goal. At just 17, his solid frame allows him to cope comfortably with the physical demands of senior-level football. He combines raw pace with sharp dribbling and impressive technical dexterity.

Given his skill set, several top sides across the continent are tracking his progress. Alongside interest from Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Newcastle United, AC Milan are also reportedly considering a bid. However, none of the suitors have made a decisive move yet.
In a fresh development, transfer expert Matteo Moretto confirmed that the teenager has a €15 million release clause in his contract, which runs until 2029. Any interested club will need to trigger that fee to price him away from Los Cármenes.
Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs MONITORING Granada striker Owen Emeka.

For now, despite the mounting interest, no official offer has been submitted. The youngster remains central to coach Pacheta’s plans and will focus on his development as the Nazaríes push for a return to La Liga.
Is Emeka Owen Eligible for the Super Eagles?
His full name, Owen Mira Chukwuemeka, makes the Granada starlet’s Nigerian heritage unmistakable. Born in Málaga to a Spanish father and a Nigerian mother, he qualifies to represent both nations under FIFA eligibility rules.

Currently, he represents Spain at youth level, having earned his Spain U-17 debut in May. While that places him on the development pathway toward the Spanish senior side, the door remains wide open for an international switch to Nigeria, as he has yet to feature in a competitive senior international.
Breaking into La Furia Roja’s senior setup in the near future appears a tall order unless his trajectory accelerates drastically. Emeka primarily operates on the right wing — a position Spain looks set to dominate for the next decade through Barcelona phenom Lamine Yamal.

Nigeria, by contrast, still lacks long-term consistency and depth on that flank. A dynamic, consistent winger would be an ideal fit for the Super Eagles.
As is common with dual-national prospects born abroad, Owen will likely assess his long-term prospects with Spain before committing his international future to Nigeria. For now, the Nigeria Football Federation has every reason to monitor his situation closely.
