The Lagos State Government has appointed Dr Victoria Egunjobi as the new Executive Secretary of the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency to strengthen healthcare regulation and quality assurance across the state.
The appointment, approved by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, takes effect from April 13, 2026, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health and signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Tunbosun Ogunbanwo.
It was conveyed in a letter dated April 10, 2026, and signed by the Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, on behalf of the governor.
“I am pleased to convey the approval of Mr Governor of your appointment as Executive Secretary, Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency, with effect from April 13, 2026,” the letter stated.
Agoro noted that the state government expects the appointee to demonstrate a high level of dedication, diligence, and selflessness in the discharge of her duties.
Egunjobi, a public health physician, has over two decades of experience in the Lagos State public service, with expertise in data management, malaria control, maternal and child health, family planning, and gender-based violence.
Until her appointment, she served as Director of Disease Control at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, where she coordinated interventions on communicable and non-communicable diseases.
She has also held several positions within the ministry, including Health Management Information System Officer, Knowledge Management Focal Person, Secretary of the Health Research Committee, Verification Officer for the state’s Births and Deaths Registry, and Medical Officer in the Planning Division.
Egunjobi previously served as Reproductive Health Coordinator, overseeing programmes such as safe motherhood, family planning, and response mechanisms for sexual and gender-based violence.
An alumna of the University of Lagos, she holds degrees in Physiology, Medicine and Surgery, as well as a Master’s in Public Health. She also obtained a postgraduate certificate in Health Economics from the University of Aberdeen.
She is a member of the West African College of Physicians and an associate member of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
