First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has visited the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, at the Seat of the Caliphate, in continuation of efforts to promote peace, unity and national development.
The First Lady’s courtesy visit was received with appreciation by the Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, who described the engagement as a reflection of the strong relationship between the Presidency, the Sultanate and the people of Sokoto State.
In a post shared on X on Saturday, Aliyu speaking on the significance of the visit, noted that the meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between traditional institutions and government in addressing national challenges and advancing the welfare of Nigerians.
He commended Oluremi Tinubu for her commitment to improving the lives of citizens through the Renewed Hope Initiative, describing her humanitarian efforts as a valuable contribution to national development.
“I commend the First Lady’s commitment to uplifting the lives of Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Initiative and appreciate her kind words about our dear state and our revered Sultan,” he said.
The visit, according to him, further reinforced the enduring partnership between the Presidency, Sokoto State and the Sultanate in promoting peace, unity and progress.
He also prayed for continued good health and wisdom for the Sultan of Sokoto, while wishing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady success in their service to the nation.
“May Allah continue to bless His Eminence with good health and wisdom, grant Her Excellency and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu success in service to our nation, and continue to bless Sokoto State and Nigeria with peace, progress and prosperity,” he added.
