The police in Ogun State have arrested three persons in connection with the cult clash that occurred in the Agbowa area of the state, where three unidentified young men were shot dead by a rival cult group.
The suspects are Oluwatosin Adeniro 25, Adebayo Oluwaseun, 35, and Segun Ademola, 38.
Spokesperson for the command, Superintendent of Police (SP), Omolola Odutola, said their arrest-followed intelligence received from concern citizen by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) on Sunday, November 12, that six members of a cult group had gone to Agbowa area to cause mayhem.
According to her, the team acted swiftly and discovered three unidentified lifeless bodies of young men lying in a pool of blood with gunshot on their heads, and immediately rushed them to Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital (OOTH), Sagamu, where a doctor certified them dead, and their remains were subsequently deposited in the morgue.
Odutola said eight expanded cartridges, one live cartridge, and one Samsung phone were recovered from the scene of the crime.
“The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, who was physically present in Sagamu throughout the weekend has ordered police presence to the affected place to ensure the safety of citizens in and out of Sagamu.
“The CP is determined to rid the state of criminal elements and bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice,” she added.
