Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has celebrated fellow industrialist, Aliko Dangote, on the occasion of his birthday on April 10, 2026.
Marking the day with a warm tribute on Instagram, Otedola shared a photo of himself and Dangote dressed in coordinated white traditional attire, complete with matching caps, in what appeared to be a formal setting. Beyond the harmony, it was his caption that drew attention, as he described Dangote as his “bestie”.
He wrote, “Happy Birthday to my BESTIE Aliko Dangote, hands down the greatest entrepreneur to have come out of Africa. Wishing you many more years of good health, good market conditions, and continued success.”
Joining in the celebration was Otedola’s daughter, Florence, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, who took to the comment section with a brief but affectionate remark that captured the bond between both families. “Daddy and Papa,” she wrote.
Though succinct, her comment underscored a relationship that has, over the years, grown beyond business into a close-knit family connection.
That bond is also reflected in the friendship between their daughters—Halima Dangote and DJ Cuppy—who have maintained a visible presence in each other’s lives, often showing support for each other. In 2024, Cuppy celebrated her birthday with Halima, further highlighting the closeness between both families.
Otedola and Dangote have remained consistent fixtures in each other’s milestones, frequently attending family gatherings and major celebrations. From weddings to private occasions, their appearances together have come to symbolise a friendship that has endured across decades.
Despite Dangote’s relatively reserved public persona, he is known to show up for Otedola when it matters. In return, Otedola has never shied away from honouring and celebrating the business magnate. Their bond continues to stand out in Nigeria’s corporate and social circles.
