Electorate won’t regret returning APC to power, Osun chieftain restates
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said that he derived strength from the support he enjoyed from the people of the state.
The governor, who spoke after being conferred with a Doctorate (Honore causa) at the 11th undergraduate and seventh postgraduate convocation ceremony of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, at the weekend, said the honorary doctorate bestowed on him was an attestation of service delivery by his administration.
He, however, restated his administration’s focus on service delivery to the people, noting that the people determine who wields political power through their votes.
According to him, the award would further spur him to do more for the teeming populace, saying it came at a critical time in the tenure of his administration.
Meanwhile, the Pro-Chancellor of the university, Dr Deji Adeleke, lamented the country’s political system that does not allow people’s votes to count, hence, constitutes a stumbling block for investment, which in turn, affects youth employment.
RELATEDLY, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, yesterday, said that the electorate in the state would not regret returning the party to power in the 2026 governorship election in the state.
Oyintiloye, who hitherto represented Obokun State Constituency in the House of Assembly, spoke during a consultation visit by one of the party’s governorship aspirants, Bola Oyebamiji, to Obokun Local Council of the state.
He gave the assurance that the party would meet the expectations of the electorate based on the needs assessment of the previous administration, as documented by the civic engagement agency.
The APC chieftain, who served as Special Adviser to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, in the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation, led the agency, “Osun Civic Engagement,” which was established by the immediate governor to bridge the gap between the people and government, especially in the area of policy formulation.
He, therefore, implored the electorate to support the party during the election.
Responding, Oyebamiji said that the needs assessment of the various communities in the state, as documented for the second term of Oyetola’s administration tenure, would be revisited.
