The operatives of Ogun State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps, have arrested two alleged cultists, 23-year-old Rafiu Saheed and Raji Selim, aged 22, who have been terrorising the residents of Ipokia in Ipokia Local Government area of the state for the past two months.
Items recovered from the duo during their arrest were a fabricated pistol, a live cartridge, an axe and a red colour unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.
This was according to a statement signed and released by the Deputy Corps Commander, Col T Bakare (rtd.) and made available to journalists on Thursday.
The successful arrest of these suspects was reportedly hinged on several shreds of intelligence at the disposal of the agency in addition to the fact that the operatives of the corps have been on the trail of the gang for quite some time.
He explained, “The suspects arrested include one Rafiu Saheed, 23 years, and Raji Selim, 22 years, while the third suspect, popularly known as Idowu Ganiu, aged about 25years, escaped.
The two aforementioned suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, at about 11pm in the Owotedo area of Ajegunle Idirorko in Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun State.
“The three suspects were intercepted while they were riding on an unregistered Bajaj Boxer Motorcycle along Ipokia Idiroko en route to Ajegunle Idiroko for their Criminal mission. As Rafiu Saheed ‘m’ and Raji Selim ‘m’ were arrested, Idowu Ganiu ‘m’ is still at large.
“However, when the suspects were intercepted, they were searched, and the following exhibits were recovered in their possession: a locally fabricated pistol, live cartridge, axe and an unregistered Bajaj Boxer Motorcycle Red Colour.
Bakare said that the suspects had been transferred to SCID Eleweran Abeokuta for investigation and prosecution, along with the exhibits.
He urged members of the public to be more security-conscious and ensure that they relay useful information to the appropriate security quarters for swift response.
