French Première Ligue giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have announced the signing of Lagos-born Nigerian midfielder Oluchi Basil, Soccernet.ng reports.
Oluchi, a sensational attacking midfielder, has signed her first professional contract with the Rouge et Bleu. The teenager first attracted attention while playing for Nantes Métropole Futsal and FC Nantes before moving to the French capital.
According to a statement on the club’s official website, she has signed with PSG until 2029.
The 16-year-old central midfielder is highly talented and versatile. She is comfortable on the ball, showing excellent technique and attacking prowess — factors that influenced the club’s decision to secure her future as part of the club’s long-term project.
Oluchi has already proven to be an instrumental talent for Les Parisiennes, notably delivering an impressive performance in the 2026 Nike U18 Women’s Cup final against Le Havre AC, where she helped the club lift the trophy following a penalty shootout.

Speaking to the club’s media channel, PSG TV, the highly rated youngster expressed her delight at signing her first professional contract, adding that it reflects the club’s trust in her and its commitment to developing young players.
”I’m very happy to become a professional footballer at Paris Saint-Germain, which is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I would like to thank the club for the faith they have shown in me.”
”It’s proof that the club really trusts its young players. It’s also up to us to show that we are able to repay that trust,” she said.
The Super Falcons-eligible midfielder has yet to represent Nigeria at the international level but could receive a call-up in the future. The likelihood of that happening has increased, as she will now be training and competing alongside fellow Super Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade and Jennifer Echegini.
