Portuguese side SC Braga has officially confirmed the signing of young Nigerian defender Adebisi Olamikun from Inter Lagos, Soccernet.ng reports.
In recent years, Inter Lagos has consistently produced top-tier talent, successfully facilitating their transition to European clubs for further professional development. Olamikun, widely regarded as one of the club’s standout performers, is the latest to make the jump.
The left-footed center-back established himself as one of the highest-rated defenders in the league, a feat that ultimately paved the way for this significant career move.

While specific terms remain undisclosed by either party, reports suggest Olamikun has signed a long-term contract. The 18-year-old has already arrived in Portugal and will begin his integration with the club’s youth setup, with the ultimate goal of earning a promotion to the senior team.

SC Braga have a decent hsitory of recruiting Nigerian players. Most notably, the club has featured former Super Eagles stars Uche Agbo and Elderson Echiejile. Agbo played for them for half a season, while Echiejile played there for four years, helping them win the Portuguese League Cup during his time there.
Other notable Nigerians who have represented the club are Kazeem Kareem, Abiodun Agunbiade, Chidi Osuchukwu, and Joseph Samson.

According to Transfermarkt, Olamikun is the eighth Nigerian to join the three-time Portuguese top-flight winners. As this marks his first stint in Europe, the teenager will be focused on impressing the coaching staff to accelerate his path to first-team football.
