One of the senior aides to Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State, Nda Aaron has resigned from his position as the Special Adviser to the governor on Multimedia to pursue his ambition of representing Lokoja I in the State House of Assembly.
This development was confirmed on Friday by Aron himself in a telephone conversation with our correspondent in Lokoja.
“Yes, it is confirmed. I resigned on the 27th of March in line with the electoral guidelines, which pegs the deadline on the 31st of March. It’s also confirmed that I am doing that to contest the forthcoming election into Lokoja 1 Local Government Area. I am looking forward to seeing it in your paper,” Aron said.
Nda Aaron, a well-known media influencer in Kogi State, is widely regarded as a leading contender for the All Progressives Congress ticket.
Political observers believe the early announcement of his intention reflects his strong confidence in securing the party’s nomination.
Arewa PUNCH further reports that his aspiration has continued to gain traction, attracting support from stakeholders, women, and youth groups—particularly Gen Z audiences on social media—who point to his visibility, engagement, and advocacy for societal development as key strengths.
A party loyalist, Michael Abu, said Nda Aron has done the right thing. He should test his popularity by contesting, and to do that, he has to drop his present position
“He has paid his dues in Kogi politics and beyond. This is not just about popularity; it is about competence and the ability to deliver. We believe he has what it takes to make meaningful contributions at the Assembly,” the party loyalist said.
