Super Eagles and Coventry City midfielder Frank Ogochukwu Onyeka has revealed his go-to Nigerian dish, and his choice isn’t the conventional one, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old recently joined EFL Championship table-toppers Coventry from Brentford in a loan deal until the end of the season, although Frank Lampard’s side have the option of making the deal permanent if they gain promotion to the English Premier League.

Onyeka’s decision to join Coventry felt strange to many, but the ex-Augsburg man has clarified he joined largely because he was frozen out under Keith Andrews.

Additionally, the goal of fighting for a trophy and promotion to the English top-flight appeals to the ex-Midtjylland midfielder.

Beans and Plantain – Frank Onyeka’s favourite meal

While the Nigerian jollof is one of the nation’s biggest exports, it wasn’t on Onyeka’s radar, as he revealed he prefers the ‘Beans and dodo’ combo.

Jollof rice holds the fort for a lot of the Nigerian locals, but beans and plantain aren’t a far fetch as well.

Onyeka played just 88 minutes of football for Brentford before joining Coventry City on loan after the AFCON 2025 tournament.
