The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Solomon Adodo, on Monday, said that the forthcoming Nigerianization Summit will provide a national platform to redefine Nigeria’s image, protect local industries, and empower young people as custodians of the Nigerian dream.
He noted that the initiative is aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Nigerian-First Policy, which emphasises dignifying the brand called Nigeria through local content, youth inclusion and national pride.
Adodo announced this during a press briefing in Abuja to introduce the summit, scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2025. He mentioned that the summit will serve as Nigeria’s annual gathering for sustainable growth, bringing together patriotism, enterprise, and nation-building.
The event, themed “Local Content, Global Impact – The Nigerian Way”, is being organised by the NYCN in collaboration with government ministries, agencies, and the private sector.
Highlighting the importance of the event, he explained that the summit will also feature the Nigerianization Awards, designed to honour individuals, institutions, and brands that have championed Nigerian values, promoted indigenous capacity, and inspired national pride.
He said: “The Nigerianization Awards: honouring outstanding individuals, institutions, and brands that have championed Nigerian values, promoted indigenous capacity, and inspired national pride.
“The Nigerianization Summit provides a national platform to redefine Nigeria’s image, protect local industry and empower the youth as custodians of the Nigerian dream.
“The Nigerianization Summit will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, youth entrepreneurs, innovators, and creatives to chart a path for strengthening Nigeria’s identity and global competitiveness.”
In his remarks, President of Ice Communication Incorporated and Co-Chairman of the Central Organising Committee, Dr. Otu Dondaniels, described the summit as Nigeria’s foremost platform for championing local content and homegrown innovation.
He explained that the summit will unite policymakers, industry leaders and youth innovators to drive actionable Nigeria-first strategies, while the Nigerianization Awards will spotlight excellence in indigenous capacity and national pride.

Other members of the Central Organising Committee include: Comrade Rikki Nwajiofor, Deputy President, National Youth Council of Nigeria; Comrade Duke Alamboye; Comrade Asheazi Musa; and Comrade Stephen Eriba.
