The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has commended Governor Peter Mbah for his visionary leadership and transformation agenda, describing his development strides as a source of renewed hope and inspiration across the state.
Stakeholders of the APC in Eke Ward, Udi Local Government Area, made the remark on Friday after a meeting that they said marked a turning point in the political history of the area.
According to the stakeholders, Governor Mbah’s leadership style and achievements have not only transformed Enugu but also boosted the APC’s growing influence and prospects in the Southeast region.
“Over the past twelve years, the political atmosphere in Eke has witnessed intense rivalry and division between the APC and PDP, but this meeting symbolised a renewed spirit of reconciliation and collective purpose,” the group stated.
They noted that the meeting focused on restructuring the ward’s political framework following the mass defection of PDP members, including prominent leaders, who joined the APC alongside Governor Mbah.
“His visionary leadership and transformational drive to make Enugu a model city in Nigeria and beyond have inspired hope and progress across the state,” the stakeholders added.
In line with the new direction, the ward stakeholders unanimously appointed a two-man caretaker committee to oversee the affairs of the APC in Eke Ward pending further directives from the State Caretaker Committee and the governor.
The committee members are Dr. Emeka Udeh and Mr. Mike Oguama.
While addressing the meeting, Udeh announced the dissolution of all previous ward executive structures and affirmed that the newly defected PDP members were now bona fide members of the APC.
He said they would be formally integrated and assigned roles after the forthcoming APC congress.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah, pledging to work tirelessly for the success of the APC at all levels ahead of the 2027 general elections.
