The Super Eagles will hold their first training session ahead of Friday’s 2027 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar on Tuesday, with Éric Chelle set to begin his tactical preparations for the crucial Group L opener, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria opened camp in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom, on Monday, with 20 players already in camp as the squad gradually comes together ahead of the meeting with the Barea at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Among those already in camp are Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Moses Simon, Akor Adams and Tolu Arokodare, while goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo and defenders Isaac James and Chibuike Nwaiwu are among the newer faces in the group.

Captain Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali were expected to arrive later today, further strengthening Chelle’s options for the session.
Victor Osimhen will not be involved after the Galatasaray striker was ruled out with a muscle injury, with Coventry City forward Taiwo Awoniyi called up as his replacement.
The session is particularly significant as it marks Chelle’s first opportunity to work with the bulk of his senior squad ahead of a competitive fixture since Nigeria’s last international assignment.

The opening 15 minutes of Tuesday’s training have been made available to members of the media, while the team is scheduled to hold media activities with the players on Wednesday.
