President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of Ramadan.

In a message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, on Friday, Akpabio urged Muslims to show compassion, forgiveness, and unity, and to continue the philanthropic practice of alms-giving and love for one another.

“This joyous celebration reminds us of the profound values of compassion, forgiveness, and unity that Eid-el-Fitr embodies,” Akpabio said. He also called for empathy, kindness, and generosity, particularly toward the less privileged, and extended his wishes to President Bola Tinubu, all Muslims, and Nigerians for peace, progress, and prosperity.

Similarly, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2026 Osun off-cycle governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, extended warm Eid greetings to Muslims across Osun State, commending them for their spiritual devotion and sacrifice during Ramadan. Oyebamiji encouraged residents to uphold values of patience, discipline, compassion, and sacrifice in everyday life, emphasizing that these virtues should guide the collective effort to build a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive Osun State.

On the political front, Oyebamiji highlighted the need for visionary leadership to drive economic growth, job creation, youth empowerment, and improved social infrastructure. He also called on residents to foster peace, unity, and harmony across religious and ethnic lines, adding, “Together, with faith in Almighty Allah and a shared determination to move Osun forward, we can build a brighter future for our children and generations yet unborn.”

Joining the call, the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, urged Muslims to sustain the spiritual discipline of Ramadan and continue praying for the country’s peace, progress, and unity. In his Eid message, Basiru reminded the faithful that devotion to Allah should go beyond the 30-day fast, emphasizing the importance of continuous acts of worship, charity, and righteousness in daily life.

Basiru also highlighted national concerns, urging Nigerians to work together to tackle insecurity and support the administration of President Bola Tinubu, noting ongoing economic and fiscal reforms that are gradually repositioning the country globally.

All three leaders emphasized the spiritual and social values of Eid, calling on Nigerians to embrace compassion, generosity, and unity while praying for a peaceful, prosperous, and harmonious nation.
