The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Health, Dr. Oluwakemi Ogunyemi, has flagged off an eight-day free healthcare outreach sponsored by the Chairman of Eleganza Group of Companies, Chief Razak Okoya, as part of activities marking his 86th birthday.

The outreach, which targets hundreds of residents daily, is being implemented with technical coordination and support from Lagos State Health District III, ensuring that all medical interventions meet approved clinical standards and align with the state’s people-centred healthcare agenda.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Ogunyemi noted that Okoya had demonstrated how philanthropy could be strategically aligned with government programmes to deliver measurable health outcomes.

She reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to sustaining impactful public–private partnerships that improve access to quality healthcare and promote early disease detection across the state.

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, commended Okoya’s gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that complements the government’s efforts.

“This initiative goes beyond celebration. It is a practical demonstration of how private sector support can strengthen public healthcare delivery and save lives,” Adeleke said.

She explained that the healthcare outreach was structured to provide comprehensive medical screening and treatment, beginning with blood pressure and blood sugar checks, Hepatitis B testing, and urinalysis, followed by consultations with medical doctors and appropriate referrals.

“Key services being offered include HIV testing and counselling in collaboration with the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency, dental care services, eye screening with free corrective glasses, breast and cervical cancer screening, general medical consultations, health education, and referrals for follow-up care within government health facilities,” she added.

Adeleke further lauded the industrialist for extending ₦10,000 cash support to beneficiaries of the outreach.
