The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Nigerian youth to take ownership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a transformative platform that places young people at the centre of national development.

The party said the Tinubu administration has gone beyond rhetoric to deliver practical policies and programmes that empower youth, contrasting this with what it described as the lip service of previous administrations to youth inclusion and development.

In a statement issued by its spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the party noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda has created opportunities for young Nigerians to acquire skills, build wealth, and assume leadership roles across sectors.

Oladejo highlighted several youth-focused initiatives under the administration, including the National Student Loan Fund (NELFUND), CreditCorp, the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, the NITDA Talent Hunt, and the Digital Innovation Support Fund, describing them as concrete investments in the nation’s future workforce.

He added that the government’s renewed focus on free technical education nationwide was a strategic step toward promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance among young Nigerians.

The APC spokesman accused the opposition of attempting to mislead young people with “shallow activism and social media propaganda,” arguing that the current administration’s record speaks for itself.

“It is ironic that the same opposition that neglected the youth for years now tries to deceive them with empty slogans,” Oladejo said. “The truth is simple: Nigerian youth are wiser than propaganda. They know who genuinely invests in their future and who only remembers them during elections.”

He stressed that the APC government is focused on teaching, training, financing, and employing young people — not making hollow promises online.

“Every policy under the Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to build a Nigeria where the youth are creators of wealth, not casualties of unemployment,” he said.

Oladejo further noted that Lagos State has long served as the model for youth inclusion in governance, crediting President Tinubu’s leadership legacy as governor for producing “countless young leaders who now serve across Nigeria.”

“That Lagos legacy has now been elevated to the national level through deliberate policies that merge experience with energy and wisdom with innovation,” he added.
