Nigerian forward Moses Usor was in superb form for LASK as they cruised to a dominant 4-1 victory over Ried in the Austrian Bundesliga on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old, who helped LASK win the Austrian Cup last season, once again played a key role as his side maintained their perfect start to the 2026-27 league campaign.

Niam Sissoko gave Ried an early lead, but LASK responded almost immediately to complete a convincing comeback. Samuel Adeniran scored twice, while Usor and Christoph Lang were also on the scoresheet to seal the win for the hosts, who were reduced to 10 men later in the game.

LASK vs Ried: How the match was played out

LASK had made an impressive start to the new season, winning their opening two games, with a 3-0 victory over Grazer AK and a 2-0 win against Austria Wien.

Ried, meanwhile, had collected just one point from their opening two matches and were looking for a much better result against the league leaders. However, it was the visitors who made the brighter start, taking the lead in the ninth minute when Sissoko turned the ball home to put Ried ahead.

LASK responded almost immediately, with Usor playing a key role in the equalizer. The Nigerian found Adeniran, who finished well to bring the hosts level.

Usor then completed the turnaround shortly afterwards, firing home to put LASK in front for the first time in the game. Adeniran added his second goal in the 27th minute to put LASK 3-1 ahead and give the hosts a comfortable advantage before half-time.

Usor was involved again for LASK’s fourth goal. After a quick counterattack, the Nigerian picked up the ball and set up Lang, who finished the move to make it 4-1.

LASK were later reduced to 10 men after Robert Ljubicic was sent off for a bad challenge, but they held on comfortably to secure all three points. The game ended 4-1, with LASK remaining top of the Austrian Bundesliga after three matches.

He also registered the most shots in the match (3) and finished with the highest number of goal contributions (3).

The versatile forward completed 100% of his dribbles, won 75% of his ground duels and finished the game with an impressive 9.2 rating, according to FotMob, which represented the highest rating in the match.

Usor boosts Super Eagles chances with superb display

Moses Usor has long been on the radar of the Super Eagles, and performances like this could strengthen his case for a first senior international call-up. The 24-year-old topped several attacking statistics against Ried and now has five goal contributions in just four games this season.

His current form gives him a strong opportunity to catch the attention of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Usor will now hope to maintain his impressive form when LASK face Scottish champions Celtic in the UEFA Champions League playoffs on Wednesday at Celtic Park.
