Spanish La Liga club Getafe has shared a fresh update on Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche amid ongoing speculation linking him with a transfer, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 23-year-old Nigerian midfielder returned to Los Azulones at the end of last season following the expiration of his loan deal at Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace could have signed Uche permanently, but they opted against it due to his underwhelming campaign with the club.

As a result, he is now back with Los Azulones. In the meantime, he has remained on the radar of several clubs looking to add quality to their squads. Spanish sides Real Betis, Atlético Madrid, and Real Sociedad have previously been linked with Uche.
Even clubs like AC Milan and Everton reportedly have their eyes on him, but none of them has made a concrete offer just yet.
However, as the speculation surrounding the Super Eagles star’s future persists, Getafe has shared an update involving the midfielder.
Getafe’s Latest Update on Christantus Uche

On Wednesday, Getafe shared a video of their players during pre-season training. The club often holds sessions at the beach in a bid to build the players’ stamina.
Uche was featured among the players in the video, and he appeared happy and comfortable during the session.

This is a clear indication that coach José Bordalás plans to integrate the Super Eagles star into his squad for pre-season and, potentially, the upcoming campaign.
This comes as no surprise, as the club has been transparent about its plans for the season. Recall that Getafe president Ángel Torres recently confirmed that while the club would like to retain Uche, they would be willing to sell if they receive a suitable offer.

This stance is driven by the club’s financial situation. Due to La Liga’s strict spending regulations, Getafe must offload some of their top players.
They have already sold two key contributors from last season, Mauro Arambarri and Luis Milla. However, it remains unclear whether the €9 million realized from those transfers will be sufficient to balance the books and allow them to keep the rest of the squad intact.
