Four people narrowly escaped death yesterday when a cement-laden truck collided with another moving truck on the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway.
The crash involved two Howo trucks, a red one with registration number T12926 LA and an ash-coloured one with registration number WDL 536 XA.
Spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi said four occupants were involved in the crash, but no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
According to him, the accident occurred due to excessive speeding by the driver of one of the trucks, which caused him to lose control and ram into the other vehicle.
He added that the affected trucks had been towed from the scene to ease traffic flow along the busy highway.
