Tolu Arokodare and his Wolves side have struggled badly this season, and coach Vitor Pereira’s future is uncertain…

Former Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag has emerged as a top candidate for the Wolves job, in case Vitor Pereira gets sacked, Soccernet.ng reports.

Tolu Arokodare just joined Wolves from Belgian club Genk in the summer, but it has been a wretched start to the campaign with the club.

Wolves are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, with just two points after nine games. They have lost seven games already, and the game play has not been impressive.

Wolves boss Pereira, who was handed a contract extension barely a month into the season, despite his poor start is now under pressure to deliver.

In fact, if Wolves lose to Fulham this weekend, there is a good chance that he will get the sack. As such, some names have emerged as potential replacements, if Pereira gets sacked.

According to Steve Brown, Manchester United coach Ten Hag has been contacted for the job.

Recall that the Dutch tactician was sacked at Eintracht Frankfurt earlier in the campaign after some disappointing results and boardroom issues.

Before Frankfurt, Ten Hag had a three-year stint at Manchester United. The former Ajax man started well there, but he eventually got booted out due to a disappointing start to the 2024/25 campaign.

Did Tolu Arokodare Make A Mistake By Joining Wolves?

Tolu Arokodare is in a really bad situation at Wolves, as his team is struggling and he isn’t playing.

This is quite an unfamiliar position for a player like him, who was a regular starter for his former club Genk before his €26 million switch.

Ten Hag hasn’t exactly been brilliant in his last two jobs, so it is difficult to know if he will deliver at Wolves.

As it is, Wolverhampton Wanderers are already in a relegation battle. And if they don’t start racking up wins soon, things might get awry.

Arokodare will be hoping that his team starts garnering wins as soon as possible. If not, he could end up playing Championship football by next season.

He hasn’t been a regular for Wolves, as most of his appearances have been off the bench. The Super Eagles striker will also be looking to get more minutes and prove his quality.
