The African Democratic Congress House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I, Emmanuel Fayose, has unveiled a 25-member campaign committee for his election.
Fayose, a younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, named his sibling and businessman, Isaac Fayose, as the Director-General of the campaign committee and a former deputy governor, Prof. Olusola Kolapo, as patron of the campaign outfit.
The candidate, who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Saturday while unveiling the campaign committee, said his decision to contest for the federal constituency seat, comprising Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun local government areas, was anchored on the need to provide practical and measurable representation that would directly improve his constituents’ lives.
He said, “This National Assembly bid is not merely a campaign for a seat; it is a movement to restore governance to the people, drive impactful policy reforms and secure sustainable development for our constituency.”
Fayose, who said his mission was to return governance to the people and ensure that the constituency benefited meaningfully from federal representation, said, “Ekiti is at a critical crossroads that requires bold leadership, integrity and a legislative voice capable of articulating and defending the aspirations of the people.”
He said his vision for the constituency would be anchored on four major pillars – “robust advocacy, rigorous oversight, resource attraction and citizens inclusion”.
The ADC candidate maintained that genuine representation should not be based on wealth, inheritance or political bargaining, but on service, competence, empathy and a clear understanding of governance.
He said his candidacy offered the constituency “a fresh perspective and a leadership approach focused on translating democratic representation into tangible benefits for the people.”
“True representation cannot be bought, bartered or inherited. It must be earned through consistent service, deep empathy and a clear understanding of policy dynamics,” he added.
Fayose, who would be campaigning with the slogan, “Support the future, support Otunba Emmanuel Fayose for better representation,” urged residents and stakeholders across the federal constituency to make a conscious choice for “a new era of accountable, inclusive and development-oriented representation.”
The ADC candidate said, “Real change never happens by chance; it happens by choice. We must reject the stagnant politics of the past and embrace a future built on equity, accountability, and shared prosperity.”
He said his bid was to rewrite the collective future of his people, while assuring that he would work towards building a stronger constituency and contributing to the development of Ekiti State and Nigeria.
The campaign team list also includes Chief Dipo Anisulowo (Team Adviser), Mr Femi Fadahunsi (Secretary), Tope Apanisile (Team Leader/Chairman, Inter-Party Affairs), Alhaji Mohammed Adeleye (Chairman, Spiritual Matters), Peter Akinleye (Chairman, Youth Affairs), Mrs Anike Ologuntoye (Chairperson, Women Affairs), Richard Olaolorun (Chairman, Media and Publicity), Roland Adewale (Chairman, Contact Committee) and P.
