Anambra State First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, has been named a recipient of the Public Health Innovation Award at the 2026 Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards.
The award recognises her work in promoting preventive healthcare, nutrition, physical fitness and healthy living through her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.
According to a statement issued by her media aide, Daniel Ezeigwe, the award will be presented at a ceremony scheduled for November 20 in Lagos.
Ezeigwe said the initiative had supported programmes aimed at improving the well-being of residents, particularly women, children and young people.
He said the programmes focused on health education, improved nutrition, menstrual hygiene and physical fitness, with the aim of encouraging healthier habits at household and community levels.
“The Public Health Innovation Award announced for the Anambra First Lady highlights the importance of community-based interventions and preventive health advocacy in advancing public well-being,” he said.
The Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards recognises individuals and organisations for their contributions to leadership, innovation and development across the continent.
The 2026 edition is scheduled to hold at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, under the theme, “Beyond Leadership: Building Legacy.”
