The Alliance for Kamosky, a coalition of friends and supporters of Alhaji Kamardeen Olawale Yusuf, Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties, has taken its empowerment drive to selected local government areas in Ogun State.

The initiative, aimed at making a positive impact in the society, has trained over 30,000 women and youths in various vocational skills.

The programme, which is ongoing, has benefited communities across the state, including Ado-Odo, Agbara, Igbesa, Lusada, Ketu, Ayetoro, Idiroko, Odogbolu, Odeda, Ilaro, Obafemi Owode, Ikene, Imasayi, Owode Yewa, Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu East, North, Ogun Waterside, Remo North/ Sagamu, Abeokuta North/South, Ota, Imeko, Oja Odan, Ipokia, and Ewekoro, Ifo.

Mrs. Abimbola Odunlami, an advocate of women’s empowerment, commended Yusuf and Dr. Abdul-Lateef Sulaiman for their efforts in grassroots empowerment.

She noted that the initiative was designed to complement Yusuf’s work in securing jobs for youths and providing soft loans to traders.

The vocational skills training programme has equipped beneficiaries with skills in areas such as soap making, tie-and-dye, hairdressing, shoemaking, and others.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity, with one trainee saying, “I have learned shoemaking, which will benefit me in many ways. I don’t need to go to a cobbler again since I have been equipped with the requisite training.”
