The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on the Al-Nashama of Jordan in an international friendly on Tuesday, March 31st.
This will be their second friendly of the March international break, and the three-time African champions will be hoping to emerge victorious.
It will be the third meeting between Nigeria and Jordan, with both teams having shared the spoils in their previous two encounters with one win apiece.
Going into this game, the Super Eagles are favorites both on paper and on form, having won four of their last five matches. However, Al-Nashama might have a trick or two up their sleeves and could just spring a surprise on Nigeria.
Another factor playing in Jordan’s favor is that coach Eric Chelle will be without some of his key players for this clash.
Stars like Victor Osimhen, Stanley Nwabali, Ola Aina, and Calvin Bassey were unavailable for the opening game against Iran.
Also, it was confirmed on Monday afternoon that Maduka Okoye has pulled out due to injury. This means Chelle will have to make do with either Francis Uzoho or Adebayo Adeleye in goal.
In this article, Soccernet.ng predicts Chelle’s likely starting eleven against Jordan.
Super Eagles’ Predicted XI Against Jordan
Goalkeeper: In the absence of both Maduka Okoye and Stanley Nwabali, Francis Uzoho is next in line. As such, he is expected to get the nod to start ahead of Adebayo Adeleye.
Defenders: Following the game against Iran, Semi Ajayi withdrew due to injury, while Bruno Onyemaechi left to join his partner, who has just given birth. Consequently, there will be changes to the backline.
At center-back, the Franco-Malian tactician will likely pair Emmanuel Fernandez and Igoh Ogbu. Bright Osayi-Samuel is expected to keep his place at right-back, while Zaidu Sanusi will fill the void at left-back.
Midfielders
Chelle is expected to stick with his trusted midfield duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi. However, Samuel Chukwueze may drop to the bench to make way for Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
Forwards
In attack, Akor Adams will likely lead the line. Philip Otele is expected to provide width on the left, with Moses Simon dropping to the bench. Then, Ademola Lookman will operate just behind them in a supporting role.
