Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala’s eighth-minute strike was enough to hand Nigeria a crucial 1–0 victory over Zambia and boost their hopes of qualification at the ongoing WAFCON in Morocco on Saturday.
Nigeria were forced to play with 10 players after a Super Falcons’ defender Oluwatosin Demehin received a red card in the 45th minute, but the team held on for a hard-fought win and secured all three points.
The Super Falcons will now look to defeat Egypt, who are yet to earn a point after losing their opening two matches, as they continue their push for a place in the next round.
