Kogi Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, yesterday, paid a condolence visit to the Ejeh of Ibaji and Chairman of Ibaji Area Traditional Council, at his residence over the loss in a boat mishap.
Represented by his Deputy, Joel Salifu, the governor assured the people that the state government would not relent until efforts to rescue the remaining victims are fully exhausted.
The Guardian reports that the state government had reported an additional six deaths after the initial 20 victims in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Femi Fanwo.
The monarch noted that the visit serves as a genuine show of concern by a governor who loves his people.
ALSO, President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the government and people of Kogi State over the accident that occurred on Tuesday in Ibaji Local Council.
Earlier, confirming the incident, the Kogi State Government had expressed deep sadness over the boat accident that occurred on the River Niger.
