Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has said his administration has fulfilled 90 per cent of the promises it made to the people of the state within three years in office.
The governor stated this on Saturday while receiving the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, who paid him a Sallah homage at the Government House, Kano.
The disclosure was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Yusuf said his administration had remained committed to delivering democratic dividends through people-oriented policies and developmental projects across key sectors of the economy.
According to him, significant progress has been recorded in education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, youth empowerment and economic development.
The governor said the interventions were aimed at improving the living standards of residents and repositioning Kano State for sustainable growth.
“I am pleased to state that our administration has successfully fulfilled about 90 per cent of the promises we made to the people of Kano State within three years of assuming office,” he said.
“Our government came with a clear vision to improve the lives of our people, and Alhamdulillah, we have made remarkable progress in key sectors that directly affect the wellbeing of citizens,” he added.
Yusuf noted that his administration would not relent until all outstanding commitments were delivered.
“We are determined to complete the remaining promises before the end of our tenure. We will continue to sustain the pace of development and ensure that every part of Kano State benefits from our programmes and projects,” he said.
The governor assured the people of Rano Emirate that major projects earmarked for the area would receive the required attention.
“I want to assure the people of Rano that the expansion and dualisation of the Karfi–Rano Road remains a priority. We are also committed to providing subsidised fertiliser to our farmers and renovating the Emir’s Palace, among other projects that will improve the lives of our people,” he stated.
Yusuf thanked the people of the emirate for their support and confidence in his administration.
“We appreciate the patience, support and trust the people of Rano Emirate have shown this administration. We will continue to work tirelessly to justify the confidence reposed in us,” he added.
Earlier, the Emir of Rano commended the governor for what he described as remarkable achievements recorded within three years in office.
The monarch specifically praised the completion of five-kilometre roads in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Local Government Areas, as well as the continuation of the Kaluwaiwai Water Project.
“The people of Rano Emirate have witnessed several developmental projects under your administration. The road projects executed in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure have improved transportation and economic activities in our communities,” the emir said.
He also lauded the governor’s efforts in facilitating the upgrade of the Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of the School of Rural Technology, Rano, into a Federal Polytechnic.
“We sincerely appreciate your commitment towards the upgrading of Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of our School of Rural Technology into a Federal Polytechnic. These are landmark achievements that will benefit generations to come,” he said.
The emir pledged the continued support and cooperation of the people of Rano Emirate towards promoting peace, security and development in Kano State and the country at large.
