To reduce hunger and hardship, a member representing Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives, Dr Ghali Mustapha Tijjani, has empowered 19,000 residents in his constituency.
The federal lawmaker also flagged off distribution of food items to bring succour to his constituents.
The items, which include 6,600 bags of rice, 6,000 bags of maize flour and 6,000 bags of millet were made available to households.
Also, Dr Tijjani disbursed N20, 000 grant each to 1,000 youths, while 60 female students were granted full sponsorship to pursue their careers in Nursing.
Addressing a crowd of loyalists at his Gaya country home, the lawmaker said the unveiling of the interventions marked the commencement of his first-quarter constituency initiatives.
He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises towards uplifting the social economy and human development in his constituency.
He used the opportunity to roll out his roadmap.
“I am pleased to unveil my 2024 roadmap and action plan. Today, we distribute palliatives worth N320 million. In the upcoming quarter, we will empower farmers, followed by youth empowerment skills and equipment in the third quarter.
“In the fourth quarter, we will commission all constituency projects. We have already facilitated job opportunities and enhanced community infrastructure by installing solar street lights and repairing boreholes.
“We remain committed to the Kwankwasiyya mandate,” he said.
Speaking, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was represented by the Deputy Party Chairman of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Kano South, Alhaji Wada Daho commended his effort and urged constituents to support his initiatives and the state government and promised more developments.
